Dragonfighter

The Dragonfighter rode his mighty war horse up the path leading to the cave.  There were signs of scorching all about the ground and foliage.  A fire breather....this would be a challenge.  He pulled his horse to a stop and dismounted.  The battle hardened animal pawed the ground nervously and snorted.  The Dragonfighter pulled his sword and shield from the saddle, and patted the horse on the neck.  He then turned the horse around and swatted him on the rump to send him on his way.  This battle would be fought on foot.

With sword and shield in hand, the Dragonfighter cautiously walked up the path and approached the cave.  A deep rumble emminated from within.  Golden yellow eyes peered out of the darkness focusing on the approaching knight.  The Dragonfighter held his shield up in front of him and readied his sword.

The beast emmerged from the cave with slow and murderous intent.  It's rough black hide sparkled in the sunlight as though it were covered in pulverized black diamonds. The dragon inhaled deeply and shot a thunderous roar at the tiny human that dared invade it's territory.  The Dragonfighter swung his sword back and forth in front of him taunting the creature.

The dragon set it's feet, spread it's huge wings, and inhaled again.  Small tendrils of smoke rose from it's nostrils.....this time there would be fire.  Just as the Dragonfighter moved his shield to cover his head and body, the voice of the Queen reached his ears........
"Bobby!  How many times have I told you not to play near that incinerator!  Now come wash up for dinner."
"Yes m'am" said the Dragonfighter.
